A gym collects in January for the whole year. In accounting terms that money is not yet earned — and that is exactly where many year-ends fail.

Deferring annual memberships
An annual membership paid in January belongs spread across twelve months. Without deferral, January looks brilliant and the rest of the year meagre. Accounty keeps deferred income so the revenue sits where the service is delivered.
Recurring invoices
Monthly memberships are set up once and run automatically. What stays open, the receivables list shows.
Add-on sales
Drinks, shakes, training plans: this revenue belongs on its own income accounts — otherwise it disappears into membership revenue.
Trainers on hourly pay
Course instructors often work by the hour or as self-employed. Payroll covers employees; for the self-employed you keep supplier invoices.
What Accounty costs for fitness and sports studios
CHF 29 per month, VAT included. That covers every module — general ledger, receivables with QR-bill, payables, payroll with no employee limit, VAT returns, year-end closing, document inbox with AI recognition, bank reconciliation, cost centres, inventory, cash book, time tracking and CRM. Unlimited users. Cancel monthly.
With many providers, payroll costs extra or is capped by headcount. That is why Accounty usually works out cheaper for businesses with employees than the list price suggests. A comparison with other Swiss solutions is available. If you want to see ten providers side by side, the detailed market analysis is in the article Swiss accounting software compared, 2026.
Who is behind it
Accounty is a product of SEBONA Treuhand Böhner in Kloten. We manage client mandates ourselves and built the software because no existing solution convinced us. If you would rather hand over your bookkeeping than run it yourself: We can take that on too.
Are you a fiduciary managing several mandates? There are dedicated terms from CHF 9 per mandate.
Frequently asked questions
How do I book an annual membership correctly?
The payment is initially deferred income. Month by month, one twelfth is released to income. Accounty supports this deferral.
Can I manage members?
You keep contacts and contracts in the CRM. Accounty does not replace access control or class scheduling.
Is sport exempt from VAT?
Certain services in sport and culture are exempt under Article 21 of the VAT Act, others are not. The classification depends on the specific offering and should be clarified with your fiduciary.
